The prototype design of the "Hannya Beetle Queen" was a collaborative brainstorm between MBT and DemonCraft, with Scotty Wang taking the lead in designing and sculpting. Since launching the DemonCraft series of classic products in 2017, Scotty Wang has pushed his design limits again in 2020 through a collaboration with MBT. This collaboration focused on refining the design concepts and ideas accumulated over three years and implementing them on the Hannya Beetle Queen, marking DemonCraft's first attempt at incorporating ball joints in soft vinyl design.

This work is themed around the Egyptian scarab, named "Hannya Beetle Queen." The elytra on its back incorporates the traditional Japanese Hannya mask, which hides many scarab babies inside, while the queen's tail resembles an ovipositor.

The most special feature of this piece is its pioneering use of ball joints in soft vinyl for DemonCraft. Creating ball joints within soft vinyl material is challenging and required multiple attempts to achieve a perfect state.
